Hello My Fellow Poets, This rendering is an inept translation of the exquisite poem BURN ME by most talented poet Sister Frances. Now her poem the original one is no longer available on PH. So I post it here (from my archives) for all of you to read. I hope I have the permission from her. Burn Me You have that something It glows and draws me in I can't resist the pull As I pray it's not a sin You make my heart flutter Closer, closer to your heat I can't fight these urges Draw me closer with each beat I'm a moth and nature calls Bathe me in your deadly light Singe the tips of my wings For I crave that tonight. Sister Frances
A powerful and wonderful translation! The title is so very apt and beautiful.... the desire of the poet to immolate himself in the conflagration of love. The flame (light) and the moth...(eeyal) symbol convey much.. The last stanza is simply phenomenal....! You have conveyed the sense and kept alive the true spirit, doing full justice to Sister France's beautiful poem BURN ME without marring its original power, perhaps enhancing it! Top marks!
Valsa Ma'm, Thank you for taking time to visiting poem. There is no doubt the original poem is exquisitely done. But I was skeptical about my rendering of it. I am, least to say, entralled by your words. Deeply obliged. Thank You! Thank You! And Thank You! ! ! !
