Mama, So Old Poem by E.A Akonnor

Mama, So Old

Rating: 4.0

Mama is so old now;
she couldn't cuddle me,
even when she wanted to -
So she tells me always that I've grown
with the notion of taking my mind off cuddling.

Mama is so old now;
she wouldn't kiss me,
even when my eyes, the rain run into -
So she always gives me a hanky when I'm off to town
with the hope of wiping all tears when I keep hurting.

Mama is so old now;
she wouldn't sleep beside me,
so she advised me on the woman I'll run into.
That she could make of me, a hero or an utter clown
with these cuddles and dazzling kisses, I keep asking.

Mama is so old now;
she couldn't utter love to me,
even when her heart desires to -
So I made her leave in my heart, her home,
with the hope of loving her until she retires, ultimately sleeping.

Mama is so old now;
yet wouldn't let go of me,
even when I told her to.
Her hope for me could fade now,
but her love is never ending.

nice expression of thoughts... but i'd say a boy is so old now so mama treats him like a man, though in her heart a boy is still her baby boy. please read my poem VULNERABLE DAUNTLESS. I'd appreciate your thoughts on it.
