' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' Man With A Cold

Rating: 2.8

The man
in Rembrandt's print room

demonstrates exactly
how it was...

...is done.

And in the half light
it is easy to see

the great man
himself

greet the visitor
husky with warmth

tell of this
hellish cold

blow his nose
& show us

the process of print
coming into being

the slight sheen
of perspiration

as he turns
with a curse

the wheel

with hand & foot

and sees his world
materialise

in ink.

Satisified with his mastery
he wipes his nose

the great man
(for the moment)

alive in
this man

with the cold

and with what little
fading light

the window
affords.
