Mandela Poem by Mo Masedi

Mandela

Rating: 3.8

When Nelson Mandela took leave
In a chariot of fire
To the World Yonder
You could hear the world heave

The world's fears
Turned to tears
The world was crying
Reconciliation was frying

Mandela was peace
Gave love a face
Humanity
Strove for humility

Many years in prison
For what they called treason
Failed to break him
He stood firm

He remained a dove
The symbol of love
At his loss
The world turn and toss

Mandela is dead
Who will lead
On that date
We had a date with fate

Will his giant shoes fit
Will we match his stride
Grab his fallen spear
Continue his struggle without fear

Lovely tribute to the Colossus of Freedom, a Cosmopolitan Juggernaut of monumental proportions that bestrode the indignities of human cruelties and erased it scourge, leaving footprints of reconciliation and equality. A well articulated piece of poetry insightfully penned with conviction. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.

Mandela was a great man... It's in the right direction to write about him. Good one there
