Many Influential People Poem by Francis Duggan

Many Influential People

Many influential people have a secret or two for to hide
That by public knowledge of their professional career could be destroyed
Since those without secrets they are a rare breed
And a secret once broadcast can be career damaging indeed
There is nobody perfect or without some flaw
That to be flawed is to be human is in natural law
And sadly the most flawed of people great power does command
This is something that does seem hard to understand
Some very powerful leaders their secrets from all keep
But of wrongs they have done to others they never lose any sleep
Wealthy people at least many of them like to preserve their fame
They do like preserving their good public name
Their secrets from others they silently hide
Since any loss of power to them is a loss of pride.
