Martyr-Ancestors Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Martyr-Ancestors

Articulating, communicates a martyr:
‘I don't want life to be so long-
But, what I want it, to be very big.'
He says, ‘unlike, the lengthiest months of-
January, March, May, July, August, October and December-
Not even, like September, April, June and November-
But, certainly like the month of February
So short, so full of all activities at the border.'

‘Wishing you all, a month filled with love
Peace, joy and romance' added the martyr
‘As: 07th Feb Rose Day; 08th Feb Propose Day; 09th Feb Chocolate Day; 10th Feb Teddy Day; 11th Feb Promise Day; 12th Feb Hug Day;
13th Feb Kiss Day and 14th Feb Valentine's Day.'

Mother Nature is so kind to play with
Throwing water like soft white Cotton
Showering in the form of snow and hails
Hails and rain-falls on place of its choice
People move about to enjoy season's feasts,
When, Army stands guard to protect them.

‘It's honour to stand guard of Native Land, '
Recalling Siachin-Kargil days the martyr says
‘For me, I pray to take rebirth to reserve-
Following foot-prints of martyr-ancestors.'
