Mary Of The Fable Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Mary Of The Fable

Mary, said to be contrary
Garden girl with hair so curly
Pretty girl is lovely Mary
A lovely garden gal

Mary, merry in the garden
Boy Blue is in her corn
Oh how the cows love dear Mary
Boy Blue just blows his horn

As a fable in all tales
Mary stole a singing harp
Just for Mary, Only Mary
Plays into their hearts

Oh My, 'Mary! ' A lovely fairy
Ringing silver bells
Caught Boy Blue inside her corn
Now Mary blows Blue's horn

Little Mary After Summer
She baked a pumpkin pie
Peter of the Pumpkin Eaters
Ate sweet Mary's Pie

Mary, Merry; Marry me
Asked Peter with wide eyes
But, Mary still loved her country boy
Plus Peter had a wife

As the tale of Mary's Garden
Reach beyond the countryside
Ever fable of every tale
Wanted Mary's pie

Mary comes 'within' her garden
She has a secret we all know
It is not the shells or silver bells
Mary loves to make things grow
