Mask Poem by Peter Tallis

Mask

Rating: 4.5

A dark place that no-one sees,
is the lightest place that holds my tears.
The sun is gone, the moon won't shine.
All that remains is what's left behind.
No-one wants,
no-one cares to look behind the mask of deep despair.
All alone in a world of many looking for escape... But there isn't any.
A fist...a wall. A foot... A door.
Cries for help with a soundless voice,
leaves you with the same as you had before.
No-one,
nothing,
only you are there.
In that darkened place under a mask of despair.
