'Mausiq' Fakirs Poem by Sumita Jetley

'Mausiq' Fakirs

Rating: 5.0

In the quiet of dawn's first light,
Where hearts beat as one, and spirits take flight,
There, on a verandah, the qawwals sit,
Singing of love, in devotion, they commit.

Their voices rise, a prayerful song,
For the Shaho Shah Pir, to whom they belong.
Instruments in hand, they play with grace,
Lost to the world, yet, in the divine embrace.

Amidst the scent of jasmine and incense's rise,
They find their truth, under the awakening skies.
Specks in the vast, yet singing for the King,
In their melody, a sacred offering.

A paradox, they stand, both lost and found,
In their music, the eternal, profoundly bound.
For in their song, a blissful state,
Where love reigns supreme, and hearts resonate.
