May She Who Did Once Read Gibran's Prophet (Cavatina) Poem by Gert Strydom

May She Who Did Once Read Gibran's Prophet (Cavatina)

May she who did once read Gibran's prophet,
with love to me,
who could with her very sweet presence
bring tranquilly
know how short life lingers before it's gone,
how suddenly
time runs out, into oblivion fades,
in the utter darkness of lifeless shades.
