I see the hot summer’s day through the glass.
It draws me out and takes me away.
I can’t help but think
of those summers in Lahinch.
Surfing, swimming, building sand castles,
That was how the day went.
Evening came and off to the arcades,
Slot machines, dodgems and race cars.
That’s where my pocket money used to go.
Those were the days of carefree happiness,
where I long to be.
“Five minutes left” breaks my daze,
I remember where I am,
Back in Addison Hall,
it’s A-Level time of year.
Maybe I’ll go back some day.
