Me And You Poem by vanidia Ogega

Me And You

Rating: 5.0

I watched the tears fall
From your eyes as the rain fell
And stood my ground
Only drained
I tried but I couldn't
I couldn't wipe away the tears
You waited, sniffed and sighed
I was ashamed
But not enough
I told myself it was okay
To let it all out
Soon you would be fine
I let go and I thought
One day you will thank me
For staying my ground
My hand, when I so much
Wanted to touch you
Feel your skin
With a touch I could make it all go away
Years later, here I am still
And you stilllook at me
In the same way as when
We first met
I can feel your dominant desire
Its written in your eyes
Your hands, they tremble
To touch my skin
I can see your tremulous heartbeat
The agony of your grace
You can not hold it back
Just to save face
This much I know it kills you inside
As day by day I go on
Forgetting the little things that
Mattered to us
You were just an illusion
(Shined bright at the time)
And when I found my purpose
I told you, I warned you
With myvain syrupy-sweet words
Only for you
But you stayed, thinking I could
Learn to love you, like I once did
I basked unabashedly at your peril
And found my liberty
In contrition, I can not make the tears fade
I can not return the bright smile
A smile that sets every wrong right
That once colored the world
In a luminous, lustrous radiant ambience
I can only be
A memory that you keep.

A very rouching poem. Well expressed and crafted.
