Meadowland Poem by Kelly Boutin

Meadowland

Do you dream of Meadowland?
Wade through the water so you can stand
Sing to the wind, the sun on your back
Is this like the dream I had?
The meadows will all bloom again.
Someday the rivers they won't end
Sing to the Heavens, birds of the fields
What a harvest this earth will yield
When the chaos fades away
When you can hear your own heart beat
And you can finally breath in peace
You can see the sun shine green

Break me out of Neverland
This rabbit race it never ends
I need space and I need peace
I need to see my dreams again

Call me hopeless, call me grim
This human race has taken all I am
I am nothing like the wind
No heart to even beat again
Quiet river, hide my sighs
You know I've cried so many cries

Oh I can breath here at last
Somewhere lost out of time
This Meadowlark has broken her heart
And moved into her mind
Shut the gates if yesterday
Princess of Willoughby
Tuck your broken heart away
And moved inside a dream

We place your crown upon your hands
You've made it through the end
You have fought all your battles
And now it's time to rest

Pretty birds of Meadowland
And angels of the sky
Teach me what it's like to live
And teach me how to fly.
