The measure of a man
Some say, is not artistic ken,
But in harnessing of him,
His aspirations-filled dream,
Passions and personal pride,
The flow of thoughts beside,
His feelings and emotions…
No, the measure of a man
Be as much in creative ken
As in reining tide-ebb of passions,
So worry, nor wonder, where poets stand
Dipped in all these raw emotions….
Fairly high I'd say if we understand,
Sans its emotions-filled sea,
Where wonder I poetry be?

I trace a single word 'self-control' as the true indicator of a good human being and a sober person! An insightful piece of work sir... liked the first stanza most.....10
Yes, it defines the measure of a man. Thanks for the feedback Dr Swain

A very perceptive write, Sir. Wonderful thoughts to ponder about. Beautifully written as always. May I take this opportunity to thank you for all your wonderful comments and wish you a merry Christmas, Sir.
Good readers they say make good poets, but a few sparrows do not a summer make. Thanks for your kind remarks.
