Meeting Me Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Meeting Me

Meeting me

Excellent is movement,
Rearranging boxes.

When packing the hidden
Come to light, re-appear.

While changing the boxes
Saw some were repeated…

Have had same interest
Though quite different
In skin, face, surface…

The old books and today's
Are parts of one puzzle.

In them saw quotation:
"Not a bit of you changed
With changing governments."

In books see dynasties
In Iran and elsewhere,
Dictators rise and fall.

To me all, look the same
In palace and churches,
Synagogues, Number-Ten
And mosques of varied sects…

Loved seeing my past self
And remaining fighter,
For sake of righteousness.

Great is homelessness
It causes re-encounter
Of past with present!

Among books saw Mowat
He, left home underage
And became a fighter,
Just by luck, he returned.
