Meetings Poem by Cherokee Akan Ewe

Meetings

all i do now
is meet certain people
here and der
you know you ask questions
with the indigenous females i don't flirt or let it be interpreted as such
i give off dem tones
a certain posture
a certain distance
the high five or dap and even knuckle
which is the common western greetings
they call me black and i correct em
they call me african american and i do the same
cause i ain't into no category of a frat or soro or religion or nothing
if you ain't bout the Roots seriously
and i encourage you too to find your place out here and travel on
envision yourself and plan your way from dot to dot
i just don't be caring none out here and dats on the real...
feed dem youth the real and keep it going
