Mehrgarh Civilization Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Mehrgarh Civilization

The ruins of Mehrgarh
Lying in a rubble and shambles
Predating the Indus Valley,
Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa,
The Iron and the Bronze Age
Dating back to the Stone Age
So agrarian and pastoral
Telling of a civilization
That flourished in Balochistan
Near Quetta
On the banks of the Bolan river.

The archaeological site of Mehrgarh
Full of antiquities and antiques,
Stone sculptures and figurines,
Art and artifacts
And the pottery work
And the mounds of rubble
Excavatory and exploratory
Telling of a civilization
Lost in the range of time.
