Melancholy Poem by Nebil Elias

Melancholy

Abandoned and in despair
Too fragile to repair

Chained with cuffs and strings of remorse
Wondering if wisdom could reinforce

Emotions stirring in my core, zealous to remain
Brushing their sharp edges as they intensify

All my teary nights went in vain
The thought of it injects me with pain

A thousand memories running in my brain
Leaving misty eyes while standing in the haze of the slanting rain

The ignition of hurt lights from the inside
I stay here, to hold a fight against my demons

I yearn for the better, not some terror
I strive to cease this before death settles
