Melting Crown Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Melting Crown

Melting Crown

I come of area
-where revenge has done much
-One is Jews' "Eye for eye"
-other is the Arabs; Camel-Like…
-Greeks burned "Persepolis";
-and Baluch has own way

Though in times and often
-we can see forgiveness
-like actions of Jesus
-not much and not always

Agha-Mohammad-Khan, of Qajar
-issued an order for a crown
-made for the prince who lost throne

He set it on man's head
-filled it with lead, melted
-brain, veins and all nerves
-were cooked with temperature

This is how a prince was murdered
-in such a cruel way…
-this is just one revenge…

The Qajar dynasty from Zand
-Prince was Lotf-Ali-khan

And why so?
-because it was culture
-to remove testicles
-castrated could work, serve
-in the royal harem;
-this Qajar had been one

But became new king…
-so revenge was forming…
