Members Of Parliament

Politicians are like squawking unruly birds
Flocking untidily upon Parliament benches
Each full of self-importance and overwhelming ego
Wanting to chirp the loudest to be heard.
But they are twittering cuckoos in the nest
Who had lied robustly making false promises
Getting themselves elected to govern
Promises for the electorate never to be fulfilled.
Oh, but the wickedness of their effrontery
Pompous, squawking over-blown nonsense
Prancing and parading themselves so boldly.
Egos immense, each wanting to be prime minister
Thinking they are intellectually superior
Born to be one of history's greatest characters.
