Memoirs Of A Twig Poem by Kavitha Krishnamurthy

Memoirs Of A Twig

Rating: 5.0

I was a small twig
Part of a tree so big
Protected by the leaves
I was safe and secure

My life was going smooth
Then in my life came a winter
Separating me from my leaves
Even the tree left me alone
To suffer the sorrow and pain
My life became so worthless
I remained buried in the ice
But still there was a little hope
In the corner of my heart

Then the weather changed
Giving me the needed warmth
Slowly the pain began to fade
With the wedges of ice

Finally god had opened his eyes
Unable to tolerate my pain
Day by day I grew stronger
And it boosted up my spirit

But lazing here uselessly
Was my only concern

Then a tiny bird flew over
And slowly picked me up
It used me for its nest
At last my prayer was heard

Once upon a time
I was protected by tree and the leaves
Today I stand here
Protecting a tiny life

This is an illustration
Of how life can change
So never lose hope
and never ever give up
