A day that I do recognize
I hold within my heart
A time I conquered fear;
Freed from my wanders in the dark
I brought myself to peer into what I ached to deny
Servicing myself with pain to gain the dream beyond the lies
Time and time again I would peer into their eyes
Judging them for wickedness, despising all their pride
Yet a day I came to see the patterns of it all
How all love to sing of dreams and forbid they ever fall
How they imagine wings to fly even when they only crawl
I saw it then, yes, the way I danced with tragedy
I cursed her name and her way, treating her my enemy
When in light she was but a friend,
Servicing my vanity
I realized then, with no fault within my soul
That the truest saint, would not oblige
To love without a toll
For the wisest eyes do recognize
Sometimes our faith does tremble so
