Memories Poem by Sandra Martyres

Memories

While leaving -I forgot none of them
I wrapped them all systematically
In cotton wool and bubble paper
And carried them with me carefully

During the long tedious voyage
I checked on them several times
To make sure that they were safe
After all they were my only baggage

I was very sure that you would never
Return to search for me so I had to
Treasure at least the memories
Of the good times we spent together
