Rating: 5.0

Those rare moments
That you tarried with me
A hazy dream
They but remain to be

Each clasp of hand
Each breath and command
I cherish these immensely
For a love that once was for all to see

Now I dream incessantly
Of mountaintops and busy bees
How we traversed the valleys so deep
Until you pulled away when it got too sweet

I wish you all the luck my love
I wish happiness for you too
But know that deep down in this heart
Was burning a love that was true

I put out the flame with remorse
But the darned thing refuses to go
Its made of stuff
Much sturdier than I

It is more hopeful
Even as I am teary eyed
It burns there in the hollow heart
Someday it might just get put out

I ask it often
What makes you so sure
It says true love makes you glow
A face that only a fool would let go

And yet I cannot believe it now
For he is not here
I am pretty sure
His heart left ages ago
