Memory Of A First Love Poem by Charles Suriname

Memory Of A First Love

Rating: 5.0

The beautiful young girl
Who touched a boy's heart
When we first found love
In a Primary School Yard
Apart we have seen
More than sixty years pass
Yet seeing her now
Feels as though
There's no past
The sound of her name,
Inside I am warm and I glow
Both knowing our lives flicker
A fragile flame from the soul
Time seems to move quicker
On our too short, parole.
We've coupled, had children
Become fathers and mothers
And grandfathers and grandmothers
Felt heart-rending woes
And the joy from our lovers
So it is, that you have yours
And I have mine
Yet this parallel love we share
Travels through time
Giving brief moments of caring
Sharing short encounters,
Exchanging our truths
And now the sweet circle
Of your mouth
The moist brush of our tongues
For me, a brief ecstasy
And again I am young
My dancing partner with me
Now I don't ask for more
And again, it is you I adore.
