Two brothers born, two lives entwined,
Menendez name, a dark design.
In '89, they sealed their fate,
With blood upon the hands of hate.
José and Kitty met their end
Inside the home where love should mend.
They told the world of strangers' crime,
But lies, like shadows, fall with time.
Their wealth was spent, suspicions grew,
As greed and guilt both showed their due.
A therapist unlocked their sin,
The truth exposed, arrests begin.
At first, they claimed intruders came,
A mobster plot to hide their shame.
But soon suspicions rose with speed,
Their wealth and wills betrayed their greed.
They wove a tale of strangers' crime,
A cover made to bide their time.
But lavish acts and broken trust
Betrayed the truth beneath the dust.
Erik's voice, with trembling thread,
Confessed the truth, their spirits bled.
And so they stood, in court's harsh glare,
For murder charged beyond repair.
Convicted now, their sentence cast,
Life without hope, their ties long past.
Their parents cold, their future dim,
Two shadows lost on prison's rim.
Now sentenced both, to life in chains,
The weight of guilt forever reigns.
In prison walls they bow their heads—
Their parents cold, their lives now dead.
