Menstruation, Period. Poem by Cynthia Onukwugha

Menstruation, Period.

Rating: 4.5

Keep track of me and mark me down.
Do what you want but I shall come as I please.

When I am frustrated, you will experience sudden death in hell.
Each minute will be a razor-sharp needle fussing,
A stabbing shark’s tooth point trying to get out.
You will not rest until I am satisfied.

You think you are womanly now, this is only the bittersweet beginning.
That little elegant white dress you’ve been dying to wear
Could quickly become an embarrassing sight within a few hours.

Still womanly enough to handle me.
Make a slight mistake and I can turn you preppy little world upside down.
And in just nine months, I have the power to clone you,
Make a damaged figure and a new world just for you.

I can peaceful, lustful, and somewhat amusing,
But beware, I can also be your worst nightmare.
One you dream of, but never expected to become a reality.

A poem that speaks truth; however not true for all so a twist for those who do not share this bittersweet pain of womanhood could be inserted. Very direct; I like
