Merci, Kerouac Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Merci, Kerouac

Merci, Kerouac

Thank you, Jack father of beat
For opening tired eyes
To experience new life
Traversing the open road
On a wave of ecstasy
To such heavenly vistas

Thank you, Jack Kerouac
Offshoot of Thomas Wolfe
Friend of Allen Ginsberg
Poet crying wolf
Immortalized
By the howling wolf

Thank you, Christian brother
For honouring spirit
Of your brother Gerard
Commemorating
His youthful saintliness
With Visions of Gerard

Merci, poet mentor
Spiritual warrior
For breaking through other side
Influencing so many
Authors musicians poets

Owing debt of gratitude
