The Qur'an confirms the existence of the torment of the grave as a reward for living in the world

The torment of the grave is real and must occur as a recompense for bad deeds during life in this world.

'Do leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible - The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped. And indeed, for those who have wronged is a punishment before that, but most of them do not know.' (Surah At-Tur: 45-47)

Hell is a place for people who are always immoral and do not want to repent. Hell is terrible for anyone.

The Hell is totally ruled and controlled by God.
