Such good news is so really good to hear
An Aboriginal leader his is a well known and well loved face
As well as an Australian treasure a treasure of his own Race
He is a decent human being in every way
And of him it would be only fair to say
That he richly deserve this coveted award
For his years of hard work surely a just reward
Mick Dodson to his higher self is true
And respect and honour to him is overdue
Named Australian of the year on the eve of Australia Day
In good example he does lead the way
The pride of Australia and his Race and Clan
Mick Dodson is an honourable man.
