the mid-afternoon sun long lingered
dragged its heals in scorched sand sky
all day had waited for first swallows
first early migration swallows this season
to arrive at this blue mid-point migration lake
later still sun lingered in late afternoon shadows
later still sun lingered in blaze blood red sunset
as darkness slow crept in sun waiting waiting
sun still waiting for first sallows to inflight arrive
