Migrant Workers, Migrant Children Poem by Hebert Logerie

Migrant Workers, Migrant Children

I have a lot of love and respect for migrant workers
Who are resilient, humble and strong. They endure
A great deal like hawks and their children are there
Strong like eagles. Migrant children are dreamers
Migrant people walk twenty four hours a day
To their destination. Once they find a job
They work twenty four hours a day
Like ants, like bees for Mr. Sam and Mr. Bob
Migrant workers are brave
Even though they get treated as bad as slaves
They also work for Mr. Dave
Who usually force them to dig their own graves
The is a fact that the world belongs to all of us
We don't need borders or fences
Why can't we all be friends?
Why can't we help, love and trust
Everyone under the blue sky?
Why must migrant workers and children die
For the world to show sympathy and compassion?
Now, right now is the time to take action
Please help the migrant workers and the children
Please feed then well and give then a safe haven
Treat them like they were our relatives and good friends
Reach out to them and offer them our love and our hands.
