Milestones Poem by Steve Ricketts

Milestones

Another day of grieving, another milestone gone, another day without you, how do I carry on. Our love was so unwavering, it withstood the test of time, conquered every battle, remained so true and strong. This love is so special, to survive the way it's done, many wanted it to waver, watching and waiting for it to falter and fall before their eyes.

A love so true as ours, will pass any test of time, nothing can deter it, for it's that real love, so many do not find. This love I have of plenty, is given all to you, remembering my promise, of how I'd be true to you. Time can not weaken, the resolve I have in me, stronger are my feelings for this love you gave to me.

Now my time is plenty, I reflect on all that's been, happy times of plenty, because you were here with me. Was you and you alone, that showed it all to me, just how true love, is really meant to be. Patients was your virtue, you needed them with me. Kindness was your strength, whilst you used humour as your defence. A richer man am I, for all the love you've shown for me.
