Mini You Poem by Robert Charles Howard

Mini You

It's been something of a while
since I tumbled down
out of the warmth and darkness
into this bright uncertain space.

I see you coming toward me
and the strangest parts of me
start darting about in every direction
because I remember you.

Every time you come
something glad happens:
you hold me to your warmth,
you bring good food to my mouth
to ease the ache inside.
You make pretty sounds
that tell me I am safe -
that tell me I am not alone.

For reasons I cannot say
I know that I am you -
that you are me.

The beauty on your face
tells me you know it too
and like you, I smile.

Thank you Robert. Another crafty bit of imagery. Bravo!

Whoa guys, it's a just baby of unspecified gender in a crib with arms and legs flailing in joy recognizing his or her mother's love and returning it the best way it can - with a smile.

Yeah, I agree, I got some sexual undertones from reading this poem.

Is this dirty? Because, I feel like it could be interpreted as being dirty... Just sayin... Any insight to your creative process is appreciated. Kudos to you, fellow poet! Poem on, my fraternal comrade!
