Misery Lane (Bird Song) Poem by Michelle Asswit

Misery Lane (Bird Song)

Rating: 5.0

What I write is never complex
What I say has little to no affect
I used to believe I would change the world
I guess I was happier when I was a little girl
What I believe is very jaded
My disenchantment isn't faded
And although there's positive things to write
I feel like what I write is never right
I'm not experiencing the positive things
I pity myself for not having wings
So I can easily just fly away
To a dimension where the truth is clear as day

'I pity myself for not having wings' You do have wings... it's called an imagination and the ability to make choices.
