Missing David Poem by Nancy Terrell

Missing David

Rating: 5.0

We are both so damed independent
but now we are growing older
so when we are apart
the separation
grows much deeper -
I have grown accustomed
to all of your habits
that used to bug me -
You are now so intrinsically
such a part of me that
when you are gone
I miss that part -
How foolish I am
that I think that I can be
as independent as I was
before I met you -
No - the ensuing years
have taught me how very
interconnected we are -
so come back to me safely,
my dear - come back to me
and know that your home
is warmly ensconced
within my arms
Forever.
