Modest Inherits No Earth Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Modest Inherits No Earth

Rating: 5.0

To mighty flaring fire in forest,
Wind waves a helping hand
But blows out little candle in haste;
Weak and meek fetch no friend,
Nor yet inherits earth the modest.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Look at this opportunist wind. It helps mighty forest fire spread further, but extinguishes poor little candle. People bow to the rising sun, not the setting sun. I doubt if the modest inherits the earth.

Very deep thoughts that run counter to traditional Christian belief... but there is truth is what you peotically say!

Yes of course this has to be poetically taken. There is nothing wrong in the Biblical saying. A mother, we all know, is partial to a child with some physical or mental defect, otherwise to her all children dear. The same is true for the Almighty, Providence. Thanks for your meaningful comments, dear CF
