Mom - A - Hop - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Mom - A - Hop - Lincoln Park Zoo

A red kangaroo Mom am I.
Mother Nature has made me so.
My little joey girl - say hi,
For nine months while she still does grow,
Suckles an elongated teat.
In my pouch. Another joey,
Younger, can also suckle sweet.
Meanwhile could be a number three,
In arrested development,
Diapause in my uterus.
I have a pouch full permanent,
Quite an assembly line of us.

Mom duty is never stopping.
Super Momming keeps me hopping.
