Momma Knew Best Poem by Ima Ryma

Momma Knew Best

From day that I did come to be,
I remember my Momma would
Give her encouragement to me
That my future was bright and good.
Momma told me of freedom that
Waited out there for me to know
When I left the home habitat.
But I was still afraid to go.
I asked her if I could stay here,
And waited for Momma's reply.
She said, 'You need not fall, my dear, '
'It is your destiny to fly.'

With that, Momma wished me the best,
And gently pushed me from the nest.
