Mongolian Grasslands Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Mongolian Grasslands

Beauty to eye and soul
Home of Mongol people
Proud friendly, courageous, happy
Dwelling on vast grasslands
Nature's kingdom, purest prairie
Most excellent of pastures.

Where Genghis Khan was born
Blue skies, white clouds,
Swaying grass, horses,
Sheep, goats, yaks, camels,
Mongols world's greatest horsemen.

Nature's jewel
Where bold and brave are born
Herders, farmers, teachers, politicians
Children of the prairie
Famed horse riders
Mongols, stewards of world's treasure.

Mongolian grassland
Paradise rich with flora, and wildlife
Where good-hearted people live
Joy and happiness abides
Visitors always welcome
Hearts inspired by the landscape.
