Monsoon Rain Poem by spiritual seeker

Monsoon Rain

For days now,
the roar of the monsoon rain was deafening,
Brought delight to the frogs in the ponds,
But for the poor families in the crowded old bamboo huts,
These were signs of troubles to come.

The leaky roofs were of no comfort,
Children huddled in a little dry corner,
Empty stomachs growled like thunder,
little rice left and rice fields now no more.

The swollen river had burst the banks,
and the crowded houses were soon flooded,
‘'All must move to higher ground now! ''…
Tears flowed, has it worsened the fast rising water?
