Monsters Poem by Annie Long

Monsters

With their large fangs,
They haunt my every move,
Threatening with Dodges and Mustangs,
Every Battle I lose,
Welcome to the world of pain,
Their words make my heart bruise,
My feet try to run,
But they break upon the path,
My world is their playground,
Ruining my fun,
They are only bullies getting their laugh,
So I try to fight,
More evil than the darkest night,
I look to the sun,
But the tears blur my sight,
They tell me my future is glum,
There is no reason to look to the light,
Voices will scream and rasp,
Yelling into my soul,
Their claws will grasp,
But I have fallen into a hole,
From their greasy scales,
To their expressions worse than piercing nails,
They hiss and spew fire,
And swing their tails,
My body is starting to tire,
As I give into the world of monsters,
The ones I can never escape.
