Monstrous Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Monstrous

Monstrous

It was small
It was delicate
It, a special, feeling
Flew from its shelter
And flapped its wings
Out it went to go away

Then I heard its wings
Moving from branch to branch
Flew, far, further, till got to clouds

It covered the sun
It obscured the light
It sent down frozen rain
The soft glasses shattered
By hails tuned pebbles, stone

I opened my mouth
I tried and tried and tried
Wanted it back, re-swallowed

It was now big
It was so huge
A humongous
So monstrous
Horrible looks.

I could not take it back
The word that I had said
So never, never ever to say
The word before I rinse well
Weigh it again and, try it on me
Try me in lift power, globe on Atlas
Can I live under what I shoot to others?
