Moon Goddess Poem by G J Salgado

Moon Goddess

Rating: 5.0

She starves for the moon
Craving the stillness and silence that is broken by the sounds of the night
She runs barefoot and wild
Like an animal on all fours
Howling at the moon until her voice fades away
Her spirit also disappears into the darkness
Where her ancient soul reunites with that of which she was created
She never thought she'd finally reach the point
Where she could trust herself
She spent years doubting her worth
Always knowing her true power but afraid to use it
Never wanting to abuse, betray, or misuse for evil deeds
Though revenge seemed to find its way on the tip of her tongue
She no longer tasted it's blood thirsty salt
Her wounds now bled for something new
Dreams and visions of what she was born for
Soaked through her skin and imprinted themselves into her soul
It was then she found her crown and her throne
