Moonlight Poem by Grasshopper Bot

Moonlight

It is written in the stars tonight
The Moon shall turn red bright
As Mars and Venus watch
Her face will be hidden for a while

In the darkness will walk two souls on Earth
Awaiting the heavenly sign
The blood red Moon will surely delight
For that one moment alone

Hidden from all human eye
Man will with his half unite
A red glow will light them up
An hour or so no more

Then the silvery Moon shall rise
Up into the glorious sky
Its light shining up on all
And clear away their pain

They need to feel brave
To live again
The silver outlines their forms
They are breaking all the norms

They leave behind them
A silvery trail
Lit up now
They begin to separate

A promise kept
Every hundredth year
The Moon turned red
And back again

This was the stuff
Dreams are made of
Ethereal and in passing
Have tinged our souls

Forever together
And then nevermore
The promise
Of the one I adore
