The crescent moon this week hangs in the clear local sky,
And I'm still researching the area,
And while driving from Cottonwood back to Sedona
I spot a place in the Village of Oak Creek that calls to me.
I walk by three folks outside Full Moon Saloon on the patio,
And inside I get my choice of seats in the up-scale village bar.
It's a clean, nicely decorated warm, friendly place,
Not old, not dark… very inviting.
There are small, about one-foot diameter,
Ceramic, circular, earth-toned mirror-art pieces
Hanging above each table… local artist, no doubt,
Each with a different crescent moon theme.
There's another colorful, two foot, flat metal sculpture…
A smiling crescent moon with a flute-playing Kocopelli figure
Dangling from the tip.
There are also some beautiful photographs by a local,
Of the Red Rock area in different seasons.
I look them over closely, since I wanted to bring back
Some artistic representation of the area; and these are for sale.
There are about eight, each a large 18x24'.
One hits me over the head; it has the color and the theme…
A big, bright Super Full Moon rises between two red buttes.
I'm locked in. I have my burger and beer, still pondering.
Jordan and I have great conversation, and I say,
'I'd like to buy that one there.'
'Oh, ' she says. 'I'll have to make a call. Never sold one before.'
I found out the guy doesn't have a gallery,
Comes in for a beer now and then, and shows his work here.
After calling around, Jordan got hold of the photographer,
And the deal was done… I took it down off the wall.
She told me they have live music in a couple of days…
I guess I'll be back to the Full Moon Saloon.

Sounds like a worthwhile place to spend time with plent of local flavor. I hope to have experiences like this one day if ever I squire the means to do some traveling. Your a great story teller Bill. One of my favorites. I can always feel as if I'm on the hike or sitting on the stool beside you as I read these narratives
Aspire and it can happen, Mike. This is Naturally the most beautiful country on earth. Make it a priority to see some of it. I began in my twenties on the cheap, tenting, car camping, counting pennies for our next cup of tea. Thanks for being a great fan of my narratives.
