More Fool I! Poem by Dónall Dempsey

More Fool I!

Rating: 5.0

“Let’s leap
off Lover’s Leap

& be together for
...ever! ”

She declared
passionately

And to be near her
I(without hesitation) leapt.

Love on the rocks
(not a pretty sight)
my mangled mortal remains.

She leapt too
but she cheated
(bungee jumped)

& bounced back
into the arms of her new lover.

I can still hear her
laughter.

I like a ghost
haunted our past

unable to recover.

Summer turning
into winter.
