Morning Prayer Poem by Paul Sebastian

Morning Prayer

Heavenly Father
All creation worships you
As dawn ushers in the day
To welcome Sun behind curtain-dew
Like a bridegroom on a wedding day

Flowers raise their faces, smiling
The cockerel coos, birds sing
Day's miracle is happening
Mother Earth's awakening

I awake, kneel by my bed, pray
Thanking God for yet another day
Praising Him for His love display
Entreating for a blessed day

‘O' Lord, bless this day with your grace
Show your mercy to your humbled faithful
Forgive me for my past unfaithful ways
Restore your fellowship, so my soul's restful'

‘May your blessing make me a blessing
May your Word become alive in me
May my deeds, in your sight, be pleasing
May I live each day for your own glory'

AMEN
