Gordon Jerome

Mother - Poem by Gordon Jerome

Here’s to all the mothers I’ve ever met
And all of the others that I haven’t yet
Thank you moms for the things you did
To create a grownup from a simple kid
You helped us get up when we fell down
You found a smile in our worn out frown
You were there to wipe away all our tears
You helped us to face our childhood fears
You listened and laughed at our first joke
You held us close as our heart first broke
You clothed us and fed us and kept us dry
All this done with loves gleam in your eye
You taught us to believe in us as we grew
So mother for that I will always love you.
'closing thought'
Honor your mother in all that is you
For all she has given it's the right thing to do
