Mother of Balkan (For Srebrenica)

I say:
I could write something about her,
but where mothers are crying today
my letters have to be silent.

You say:
Poet, everywhere mothers cry the same.

I say:
It's true, a poetess.
The cry is everywhere the same, but only
mother has the most difficult tears.

The bad language has the biggest thorn.
does not allow a tear to fall in peace.
Count killed children
like grain spilled on the road.
Whose grain - he is more spilled.
Whose is not -he is poor in power laughing.
But Mother of Balkan is always the same:
Eternally weeping.

Majka Balkanska (Srebrenici)

Kažem:
Mogao bih o njoj nešto da napišem,
ali tamo gdje majke danas plaču
moja slova moraju da ćute.

Kažeš:
Pjesniče, svuda majke isto plaču.

Kažem:
Istina je, pjesnikinjo.
Plač je svuda isti ali samo
majka najteže suze ima.

Pogan jezik najveći trn ima.
Ne da ni suzi da kapne u miru.
Broje se pobijena djeca
kao žito prosuto na putu.
Čije je žito - njemu je više prosuto.
Čije nije - on se jadan nazor smije.
A balkanska majka uvijek je ista:
Vječno uplakana.
